"SKILL" THE NEW CURRENCY

 In today's world of advanced technology, learning skills is not enough; knowing its applications is.The competitive environment of organisations is on rise, human resource managers have now shifted their focus to the "skill currency" than just academic papers and credentials.

Employment is now based on skills and experience, for hiring people in view of their academic papers only is like hiring to nature their skills. In such an error an organisation that does this may likely experience losses due to competition nature.

Take a minute, recall all the job vacancies you have came across before!, you are likely to see On the requirements; we need a person with 1, 2 or even 5 years of experience.The technological revolution has really changed the notion of employment. For the upcoming generation of youth between 18 - 35 years, it's time for us to do some adjustments so that we fit in to this shoe. To maintain a competitive edge in this digital economy.

We need to work on our technical skills, we need to venture in studying for what we are passionate and in line with our values and morals, this really help in building the desire to know about practical part of our profession since you are in love and fond of what you are doing.

We should develop the love for educative materials; watching videos,listening to podcasts, audiobooks, reading materials, so that we have more knowledge of what we don't know about.The good with  this error, technology made things easy and you can get as many educative materials or gain new skills and experience within a blink of an eye. 

Through online platforms like online learning or YouTube we access new ideas or experiences and do it practically. Anyone can use a hammer to drive a nail into a piece of wood. But only skilled individuals will ensure that they make accurate strokes, swinging the hammer correctly, we should embrace new transformable skills so that we remain relevant to the field of employment. Remember the more you read the more things you will know, the more you learn the more places you will go and have more knowledge.
